Most Requested Celebrity Nose

According to a new survey of Beverly Hills patients, (posted on HollywoodLife.com) Natalie Portman is the winner of  ”most desired nose”.

The article highlights how patients often reference a celebrity when they go for consultations, and the number one procedure they ask for is rhinoplasty.

Dr. Simoni, a famed Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, who specializes in rhinoplasty ,doesn’t play into the expectations of those patients who ask to look like celebrities like most Doctors would.

He states, “When potential patients come in with pictures of celebrities or asks to look like someone else, it raises a red flag. These people tend to have unreal expectations -like that they will leave looking like they are 20 years old again. These people are often seeking perfection and medicine is not always perfect, so they are bound to be disappointed.”

Potential patients need to be aware of those Doctors who promise unreal expectations and assure you that their work will mirror a celebrities feature. Your plastic surgeon should be honest and professional. Therefore you and your Doctor should discuss how  to enhance your features in the best way for YOU.

Joan Rivers “Doesn’t Regret Plastic Surgery”

Comedy Queen Joan Rivers is now starring in a new reality show with her daughter Melissa on the WE Channel called “Joan Knows Best”. The show follows Joan as she moves into her daughters house here in LA and meddles with her life on every topic from her nanny, her live-in boyfriend and the way she raises her son, Cooper. The ever quick witted Joan is a perfect match for Reality TV.
Among the many things the two quarrel over, Joans’ plastic surgery, and her desire to get more, is ever-present. The 77 year old has an interesting and hilarious take on her surgeries telling Popwatch.com the following;

“I just hosted the Miss USA Pageant and, let me tell you, beautiful gets you everywhere. The New York Times had an article maybe six months ago: Babies respond to pretty faces. So stop telling everyone it’s okay not to be pretty! If you can fix it, fix it! If it makes you happier. I love to look in the mirror and say, “For 77, you look good.” That’s all. I don’t care what anyone says.”

While it’s clear how Joan feels, her daughter feels differently, saying that she did not want her mom to get anymore surgery in the future. However, she wants people to know she is not against it for others.

Joan is believed to have gotten numerous facelifts, a brow lift,eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), Botox injections, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, and breast enhancement, in addition to other procedures.

Plastic Surgery- Business Soars in China

In recent years plastic surgery has become one of the biggest businesses in China. The Chinese have a growing obsession with beauty, and millions go under the knife each year to improve their looks. However, they aren’t getting breast enlargements or facelifts, they are getting what is known as “double eyelids”, a procedure that aims to make eyes look less Asian and more European. Other common procedures include nose enlargements (which make noses more prominent), jawbone reshaping, and lipo of the cheeks, all of which are intended to make their faces more similar to caucasians. According to statistics from the MOH (Ministry of Health) about 3 million people had cosmetic surgery on the mainland in 2010 and the industry is worth and estimated 15 Billion Yuan ($2.9 Billion Dollars).

Baby Boomers and Botox

The baby boomers are looking to stop the clock as they are hitting the age where the wrinkles and sagging are more apparent. The new trend among the boomers (who were born between 1946-1964) seem to be more toward non-invasive procedures. These boomers are not egocentric, they just don’t like what they see in the mirror any longer since they still feel (and essentially are) young. So a little Botox or fillers are ideal . This is also a hot procedure due to the fact that most middle aged americans are still busy working and don’t have the time for a recovery of a major procedure. Nicole Kidman Admits to Botox

Actress Nicole Kidman, 43, has finally admitted that she has in fact used Botox to smooth away wrinkles and give her her youthful appearance. The confirmation was given to a German Magazine recently. This comes oddly enough after the actress denied the allegations numerous times. In one past interview Kidman told Marie Claire magazine the following, “To be honest, I am completely natural. I have nothing in my face or anything. I wear sunscreen, and I don’t smoke. I take care of myself. And I’m very proud to say that.” Why can’t these celebrities just admit to the cosmetic procedures/plastic surgery they receive? No one believes the denials anyway. Embrace your enhancements and/or fillers etc. It’s no secret.

Teen Mom Farrah Abraham Used MTV Pay for New Boobs?

Farrah Abraham, of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom fame, has apparently used some of that MTV paycheck to give her bosom a boost.
The 19 year old seen in Orlando, Fl recently seems to definitely have had plastic surgery to enhance and enlarge her breasts. Farrah was an aspiring model at one point and from the above undated photo from a modeling job her breasts seem to be at least 2 cups smaller. Again, this goes back to out previous post about teen plastic surgery, and although she is quite young, it is good to see that she didn’t get carried away like another MTV reality starlet that need not be mentioned.

Teens Get Plastic Surgery as a Result of Bullying

We all know that bullying has been a major issue in America recently. With teens being taunted for their weight, orientation, race, even clothing. This sort of abuse can be detrimental and have even caused many to end their own lives. Now, with the teasing and name calling in excess, some teens have resorted to plastic surgery to combat the hurtful words.
Erica Morgo underwent a rhinoplasty at age 15 due to constantly being made fun of by her peers for having what she called ” a big nose”. She told ABCnews.com that “In sixth grade I was in the bus, and a lot of boys made fun of me for having a big nose,” Erica said. “They would call me Pinocchio. And in school, in class, people would point it out. I felt helpless. I felt like a loser.” Eventually Erica missed almost a month of classes and tried to break her own nose by hitting her face against a door. It was after this incident that her mother allowed her to undergo a nose job which has since brought back her self esteem.
Dr. Simoni who specializes in rhinoplasty believes that getting surgery to appease other people is definitely not a healthy thing to do. The issues with bullying and teasing need to be addressed and worked out first before deciding on plastic surgery. Surgery is the last resort and the patient needs to be mature and be doing it for their own confidence and happiness. In the situation with Erica, it seems like it did work out for the best for her but this is not likely the case for all.
Plastic surgery among teens is on the rise thanks in part to the already difficult time of being that age and not having self esteem and/or being made fun of. The majority of procedures are rhinoplasty, earpinning, and breast reductions and augmentations.

Did Kim Kardashian Plump Her Lips?

More plastic surgery rumors swirl for the 30 year old reality star as she steps out in LA with a noticeably plumper pout. Although Kim has denied having any work done besides Botox, her past photos look very different from recent ones when it comes to her face. However, it is unclear whether she had something like a temporary injectable (Restylane) or a long lasting augmentation, Dr. Payman Simoni, of Simoni Plastic Surgery, believes her lips definitely appear fuller.
